About 30 kilometres north of Chefchaouen, the village of Akchour is the starting point for one of northern Morocco's most popular hikes, deep in Talassemtane National Park. The trail follows the Oued Farda through gorges and natural pools up to the Pont de Dieu (God's Bridge), a natural rock arch roughly 25 metres high, carved by limestone erosion over the centuries. Further upstream, the Akchour waterfalls — the tallest reaching nearly 100 metres — round out this popular day trip for hikers and families alike.
