Ancienne médina de Larache

About this site

Built between the 15th and 18th centuries, Larache's medina preserves several of its original access gates and rampart sections, including Bab El Khemis. Its white lanes recall the Andalusian style of the neighboring town of Asilah, and shelter mosques, zawiyas and mausoleums in an atmosphere far less touristy than the country's great imperial medinas.
