About this site
Bab Lakhmis ("the Thursday gate", named after the market once held there) is one of the classified monumental gates of Salé's ramparts. Like the city's other historic entrances, it punctuates the line of the walls and once served as an entry point to a market district, whose name today keeps alive its commercial memory.
