About this site

Built in the 17th century by order of Philip III of Spain during the Spanish occupation of the city, the Stork Castle (Kasbah) remains one of Larache's most visible monuments. Its position on the banks of the Loukkos recalls the city's strategic role in controlling the river mouth and access to the ancient site of Lixus.
