About this site
Listed as a historic monument by the Ministry of Culture, the Kasbah des Gnaouas is part of Salé's fortified heritage, alongside the main ramparts and their gates. Its name recalls the historic presence of populations of sub-Saharan origin in the city, whose Gnaoua musical and spiritual culture has left a lasting mark on the region's intangible heritage.
