Médina d'Asilah

About this site

Encircled by perfectly preserved 15th-century Portuguese ramparts, the medina of Asilah has been transformed since 1978 into a living museum: every summer, the International Cultural Moussem invites artists from around the world to cover its whitewashed walls with monumental murals, repainted each year. This Andalusian medina of quiet lanes and colorful doors contrasts with the bustle of Morocco's great imperial medinas.
