Place Outa el Hammam

About this site

The central square of Chefchaouen's medina, Outa el Hammam brings together cafés, terraces and blue-washed façades around the 15th-century Kasbah. This is where the city's pulse beats strongest: merchants, residents and travelers cross paths here throughout the day, and the square takes on a particular atmosphere at dusk as the terraces come alive. Its name ("bathhouse square") comes from an old hammam that once stood here.
