Bab Chellah is one of the historic gates that punctuate Rabat's urban fabric, traditionally marking the passage between the medina and the road leading to the Chellah necropolis. It completes the capital's ensemble of monumental gates, alongside Bab Oudaïa and Bab el-Had.
