About this site

Bab Mrisa ("the gate of the small port") is one of the most remarkable gates in Salé's ramparts, listed as a historic monument since 1914. Built to let boats enter directly into a harbor basin that has since disappeared, it bears witness to Salé's past as a corsair and trading city, historic rival of Rabat on the other bank of the Bouregreg.
