The YSL Marrakech Museum: A Love Story with Morocco
Yves Saint Laurent discovered Marrakech in 1966 and immediately fell in love with it. With Pierre Bergé, he bought Majorelle Garden in 1980 to save it from destruction. The Yves Saint Laurent Museum Marrakech (MYSLM) opened in October 2017, designed by the Studio KO firm in a 4,000 m² building of ochre terracotta brick. The architecture itself is a work of art.
What to See at the YSL Museum
The Permanent Gallery
It traces Yves Saint Laurent's history through his most iconic creations: Mondrian dresses, women's tuxedos, African and Berber collections. Morocco appears as a constant thread running through his work.
The Temporary Exhibitions
The museum regularly hosts internationally significant exhibitions. Check the current program on the museum's website before your visit.
The Library-Bookshop
Accessible on the ground floor, it offers a selection of books on fashion, design and Moroccan art. The adjoining café offers a pleasant break.
