Musée de la Photographie et des Arts Visuels de Casablanca

Tadao Ando's only work in Africa, in the old medina

About this site

Designed by the Japanese architect Tadao Ando, it is his only work on the African continent. The project keeps the site's historic arcades and walls and adds a contemporary raw-concrete extension, with a large glass front. Its inaugural exhibition, “CASA”, brings together 47 Moroccan and international photographers around a fragmentary reading of the city.
