Dar Niaba, Musée des Artistes Voyageurs

Tangier's diplomatic history and travelling artists, including Delacroix

About this site

In the old medina, facing the Assayag synagogue, this building given to France in 1816 by Sultan Moulay Slimane housed the French consulate and, from 1851, the Makhzen institution Dar Niaba Essaida. Turned into a museum in 2020 and entrusted to the FNM in 2022, it presents Tangier's diplomatic history and a collection of about 350 works by travelling artists, including Eugène Delacroix.
