Villa Harris, Musée de Tanger

Two centuries of art history in Morocco facing the Mediterranean

About this site

Built in the late 19th century by the British journalist Walter Burton Harris, special correspondent of The Times, this historic residence now houses two centuries of art history in Morocco and highlights the exchanges between the two shores of the Mediterranean. It brings together Western painters inspired by Morocco, such as Majorelle and Bravo, and Moroccan modernists including Gharbaoui and Belkahia, thanks to the donation of the patron El Khalil Belguench.
